Nicolas is a physicist by profession and a science communicator by passion. He works at the University of Duisburg-Essen in the field of nanotechnology. In his spare time, he produces the science podcast "methodisch inkorrekt!" and performs on stages all over Germany.

Jule is a postdoc at the Faculty of Biology and Chemistry, where she integrates the fields of parasitology and microbiome research into her scientific work. Trained as a freshwater microbial ecologist, she understands the crucial role microbes play in transforming water into a pint of beer.

Indra studied water science and is now a staff scientist in the group of environmental metagenomics at University Duisburg-Essen. She dedicates her science to imaging of microbes, where she observes how they interact with each other and how they turn an apple into sparkling cider.

Peter is a biologist with a background of working with tiny organisms in
extreme habitats – no, not beer yeasts, but of similar size. Today he´s
working in the physics department explaining research to kids. His
favourite beer is distilled and matured in Scottish oak casks.
